We had a fantastic time learning all about how to be a chef today! Check out the gallery page on this blog for more pictures and information!
I had a fantastic weekend! My nephew attends The Pennsylvania State University at College Park and it was family weekend! I am sure, by now, you are all aware that I LOVE teaching our kids about college and career awareness information. I cannot wait to tell them all about my experience at this amazing higher learning institution. Although we didn't get to experience a home football game this year, it was great to see the Nittany Lions put up a win anyhow. Even went to the iconic Waffle Shop and stood outside for 30 minutes trying to get in while small snow flakes fell around us. Thus, all the layers in the above picture!
WE ARE...PENN STATE!!!! Let's face it. Being a parent is one of the most difficult, but rewarding, jobs in the world. The good news is, we are not alone in this job! We are blessed to have access to a fantastic resource called the Parent Resource Center. Mrs. Kelly Jones is the director and she is amazing. There are videos, books and presentations offered to parents surrounding all different types of topics. For example, Mrs. Jones just sent out information about a webinar available next week surrounding Trauma in Pre-Schoolers. Be sure to check them out on the Hanover County Public Schools' website. You can get weekly emails that are very informative! Enjoy!
We are so excite to start small groups this week! We began focusing on social skills in Kindergarden; making good choices in first grade; paying attention and concentrating in second and third grade; and emotional regulation skills in fourth and fifth grade; and one group about family change in fourth grade. Groups run for 8 weeks. We will begin another round right after Christmas break. If you feel your child could benefit from these fun, fast moving and educational groups, please contact Mrs. Donaldson. For a list of topics available, please see the page on this blog labeled Small Groups.
