We all watched when Hurricane Irma devastated Florida, especially the Keys. Schools down there are in need of basic supplies, like classroom books and recess equipment. So, WHES is going to be holding a coin drive during the week of Oct. 23-27 for Horace O'Bryant Middle School in Key West, to assist them in replenishing these supplies. Students are invited to bring in their coins to see which grade level raises the most money. See the purple flyer that went home Oct. 19 for more details!
Fifth Graders Watching Wonder!
As a grade level, fifth grade is reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. It is a beautiful story of a young man who has unique challenges. He is entering public school for the first time in the middle school and encounters all kinds of obstacles. WHES has reserved a theater at Regal Cinemas, Short Pump on Saturday, Nov. 18th at 1:00. Fifth grade parents can reserve and pay for their tickets through WHES. This is not a drop off event but a whole family event that we hope you will participate with us! Parents, look for flyers to come home shortly!
