This school year has started out with many adventures! Guidance classes are in full swing. Be sure to check the guidance classes tabs to see what we are currently doing. Small groups have also started. Currently, we are running seven small groups focusing on social skills, friendship skills and grief. Small groups are conducted all year long, so if you would like your child to participate, please email Mrs. Donaldson at [email protected] or call 723-2308 to nominate your child to participate. Check the small group counseling tab to see the topics offered with a brief description.

NOVEMBER 9-13TH.....WHES's FIRST ANNUAL COLLEGE AND CAREER AWARENESS WEEK!
We are so excited to announce the new and improved career awareness we are providing at WHES! There are many things changing in the world of work. Our students are going to be given exciting opportunites in Hanover County, such as the Specialty Center and the new Advanced College Academy. Our goal down at the elementary level is to get the kids thinking about their interests and where their interests might take them in life. So, we are going to be infusing careers into our everyday language arts and math lessons in the classrooms, having a hallway display of where all of the WHES staff went to college, college pennants throughout the hallway, having a "dress for success" day and SO MUCH MORE!!! Stay tuned for the exciting details!!
